Generally speaking, training for your HGV licence will set you back between £1,900 and £4,999. For this cost, you get theory practice, CPC, four days of practical training, your medical, help to find work via Manpower and pass protection (if you choose to take it).
Training for a HGV licence takes anywhere between 6 and 20 weeks. However, the practical element only lasts 4-7 days, meaning that's all you need to take off from your current work.
Eighteen years is the minimum; you must also hold a Cat D licence.
It's a mandatory requirement for all UK HGV drivers to hold a valid CPC.
