Usually, HGV licence training will cost you in the region of £1,900 to £4,999. This covers you for theory practice, a 4-day practical training course, CPC training, and medical. You also get pass protection (optional) and assistance in finding work via Manpower.
6-20 weeks is all it takes to train for your HGV licence. However, the practical part takes only 4-7 days and represents the only time you'll need to be away from your current job.
You have to be at least 18 and have a Cat D licence.
Wherever you drive an HGV in the UK, a valid CPC is mandatory.
