Learning to Drive HGVs and LGVs

For the purposes of clarification, the term ‘HGV’ usually applies to articulated lorries and larger vehicles under the Category C classification. The term ‘LGV’ refers to box trucks and cargo vans. We bring this to your attention because the terminology is sometimes used interchangeably throughout the industry.

Having said all that, learning to drive HGVs and LGVs is not difficult for anyone who already has an aptitude for safe driving. Think of it this way: you already know how to drive as evidenced by the fact that you possess a valid Category B driving licence.
