According to the legislation, HGV drivers must be in good health to legally operate commercial vehicles on public highways. To that purpose, every new driver must have an HGV medical exam, as well as associated paperwork (D4), which must be given to the DVLA by the physician doing the exam.

Every time a candidate’s license needs to be renewed, they must take a new medical test. Whether you want to drive a truck or a bus, the exam is the same.
