If you recently completed HGV training in Derbyshire, you might be interested to know that Moy Park, a well-known poultry firm, is looking to hire a number of brand-new drivers. HGV UK reported that the company held a recruiting event this past weekend at their Blenheim Road facility in Ashbourne. The company is apparently looking for 15 drivers to fill newly created positions.

According to HGV UK, the new hiring is a direct result of the company’s growth. In order to attract the best drivers, Moy Park is offering varied shifts, flexible work hours and an opportunity to train in-house to receive the City and Guilds award for the Transport of Animals. The company is going out of its way to attract the most dedicated drivers out there.

What is happening at Moy Park is not unique. Companies throughout the haulage industry are in desperate need of professional drivers for both existing and future positions. An improving economy and a wave of retirements have left the industry in desperate need of competent workers. You could become one of those workers – even if you are not currently licenced – by undergoing a training programme through a company like the HGV Training Centre.

What We Do

The HGV Training Centre is one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial driver training. Not only do we offer HGV training in Derbyshire, we cover all the UK with more than 45 facilities. We offer step-by-step training that takes students from the HGV theory test all the way through to the final practical skills test. What’s more, it will not take you six months to be licenced. We can have you ready to go in a matter of weeks if you are committed to giving us your best effort.

Perhaps you are interested in driving a coach or a bus rather than an HGV. That’s great. We also offer commercial driver training to PCV drivers. Our training will prepare you to drive a city bus in London or a coach for a tour operator. It’s up to you. The great thing is that the transport industry has just as many openings for new drivers as the haulage industry.

Training to be a commercial driver requires that you already have a full car licence. Providing that is the case, the first step is to undergo the routine medical exam required by law. From there you apply for your provisional entitlement, take and pass the theory test, and then begin practical skills training. That training will include time both in the classroom and behind the wheel.

At the completion of your training, you will sign up to take your practical skills test at an approved facility. We will send one of our trainers with you just in case you have any last questions before taking the test. It is our way of making sure you are as prepared as you possibly can be.

There is work available if you want it. Just contact us to start your driver training today.
